Winchester Family Session: Woke Up, Fell Out of Bed

I’ve been photographing this family for YEARS now and this time around, mom wanted our session to be a little different. Instead of trying to get everyone posed and smiling at the camera, she wanted me to capture them doing some regular kid activities. The girls started out with some make-up, while our boy decided to build swords with clothespins and then play with his pet slug! Then we all convened in the dining room for some good coloring time. Which meant I ended up with three priceless pieces of art for my office wall! Total win-win. Every once in a while, it’s fun to move away from the more traditional portraits and play around a little. And your home is the perfect background because that’s where your kids’ favorite spaces and activities are. I loved being able to capture imagination at work! And I felt honored that the kids were comfortable enough to let me in (bonus of having a regular photographer, and lots of sessions!)!
